Heather Rose Obituary, Cause of Death – Dinwiddie County Woman Dies in Butterwood Road Crash at 33

Virginia State Police troopers are investigating whether alcohol played a role in a single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of passenger Heather Rose over the weekend. The wreck left a pickup truck overturned on the far side of a ditch off Butterwood Road.

The incident occurred on Sunday, August 2, in the 20000 block of Butterwood Road in Dinwiddie County. State police officers were dispatched to the scene following reports that a truck had left the roadway.

Investigators stated that a 1997 Dodge pickup truck was traveling westbound on Butterwood Road when it drifted off the left shoulder. The vehicle struck a concrete culvert along the side of the road before continuing forward through an adjacent field. It eventually hit a small ravine, causing the truck to roll over and land on the opposite embankment.

Heather Rose, 33, was partially ejected during the rollover and remained trapped inside the crumpled truck frame as emergency workers responded. Firefighters extricated her from the wreckage, and emergency medical personnel transported her to a local hospital in critical condition. Despite doctors’ efforts, she sadly succumbed to her injuries.

State police confirmed that neither person inside the pickup was believed to be wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. The investigation remains active as authorities continue to examine the circumstances leading up to the rollover.
